Together for Reading is excited to endorse Tara Gregory in the May 14th special election to fill a vacant seat on Reading’s Select Board!

We appreciate Tara’s forward-looking, thoughtful leadership and realistic approaches to the big issues Reading is facing. Tara’s focus is on moving Reading forward, while addressing taxpayer inequities, cost of living (especially housing), accessibility, and inclusivity. We applaud Tara’s thorough approach to MBTA Communities Act compliance, and their support for creating a Community Preservation Act fund in Reading to help our town benefit from access to additional state funds.

Tara has demonstrated a commitment to local government and service, in their previous towns as well as upon moving to Reading. Tara’s problem-solving experience in their professional life and the importance they place on listening will each serve them well in a role on the Select Board.

Tara also has experience dealing with sensitive issues, through their work with PAIR and CATO, and has demonstrated a calm, rational, and collaborative demeanor that will bring an extremely welcome change to the recent Select Board dynamics we have seen. Further, Tara’s honesty about their own disabilities and challenges makes clear they are the right choice to bring empathy, compassion, and inclusivity to town government.

We could not be more certain that Tara Gregory is the right choice for Reading, and we hope you will join us in voting for Tara on or before May 14th!
