FAQ

Why did you make this PAC?

We are motivated to:

  • Create a more transparent organization. You’ll know who is involved in the group and how the group is funded.

  • Improve voter turnout for local elections.

  • Encourage people to run for office.

  • Reduce the barrier of entry for residents to contribute at a local level.

  • Endorse candidates who share our core values.

Where do the donations come from, and what are they used for?

Donations cover operational costs (like this website), get-out-the-vote flyers, and newsletters.

Donations from individuals/groups outside of Reading are not accepted.

Where can I see your financial records?

You can find all our state- and locally-required financial records online.

Do you advocate for state-level and federal issues?

No, we focus exclusively on topics in Reading. We only endorse candidates running for local offices in Reading.

Does Together for Reading have volunteer opportunities?

Yes! We are always looking for passionate residents who want to contribute to Reading. No experience is necessary, only a desire to help our community.

Please email us and someone from our team will reach out to talk about your interests.

What do you look for in a candidate?

Endorsement decisions are made after researching the stances candidates have taken on various local issues and reaching out to community members for recommendations.

We endorse candidates who share our vision of a welcoming, forward-looking, and financially responsible Reading.

Are you affiliated with any other group, board, or committee?

Together for Reading is an independent, local, political action committee registered with the state.
